GVK Power & Infrastructure today said one of its promoters Vertex Infratech had increased its stake in the company to 7.40%.
Vertex Infratech bought an additional over 40.9 million shares worth Rs 71.46 crore, thereby, hiking its stake by 2.59%, according to regulatory filings.
Prior to today's transaction, Vertex Infratech held 4.81% stake in GVK Power.
The shareholding has been increased by way of inter-se transfer of shares among promoters through market transaction.
According to the data available on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), promoters held over 54.25% stake in GVK Power at the end of June quarter.
GVK Power has a portfolio of gas, hydro and thermal energy projects.
Shares of the company gained nearly 1% to close at Rs 17.45 on the BSE.
