Vistara on Tuesday announced the induction of seventh Airbus A320 aircraft in its fleet.
The Tata-Singapore Airlines joint venture, which started its operations in January this year, plans to increase their fleet size to at least nine this year.
The airline will increase frequency and announce a few new destinations as well during the winter schedule beginning October 25.
In its submission to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Vistara, a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines (SIA), has proposed 347 weekly flights, up from 176 it is operating at present.
"We are elated to announce the addition of the seventh aircraft to our current fleet. We have received an overwhelming response from our customers who are asking for more choices of destinations and increased frequencies. With our commitment to serve the domestic market we will add two more aircraft to our fleet that will increase our footprint by 50% in the next three months," said Vistara CEO Phee Teik Yeoh in a press statement here.
Since its launch, the airline has flown 600,000 passengers to 12 destinations including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Goa, Guwahati and Bhubaneswar.
