Vistara halves business class fares in a weekend offer

Vistara is offering 50% discount on business class tickets for two-to-four passengers on weekends. Occupancy in business class dips on weekends and the airline hopes to increase its loads in the business class with the offer.

Rival Jet Airways too is offering 40% discount on base fares in its business class on domestic routes. Jet Airways offer is valid for booking and travel till Sunday.

Vistara said its weekend offer is applicable on one way as well as return travel in business class during weekends (all day Saturday and upto 4pm departure time on Sunday) for booking made from today to May 15 and for travel from April 16-May15.

"This is a limited-inventory offer available on first-come-first-served basis. In case the seats under this offer are sold out, regular fares will be displayed. The offer is not available on Delhi-Goa and Mumbai-Goa flights," Vistara said in a press release.

Vistara is reconfiguring its aircraft to reduce business class and premium economy seating in view of lesser than expected loads in the front end. Currently two of the nine aircraft have been reconfigured to seat 9 passengers in business class, 24 passengers in premium economy and 126 economy class seats.
