The solar farm, which was completed ahead of planned schedule taking just five months, was dedicated to the nation by Union New and Renewable Energy Minister Farooq Abdullah.
The project can 2.5 lakh homes, and can reduce carbon emissions by 83,220 tonne annually, the company claimed in a statement. The project was developed in three phases of 15, 15 and 20 mw.

The company has not revealed the cost of the project.
The project is also the largest solar PV power plant in the country apart from being the largest in Asia in terms in a single location.
The power generated from project will be sold to NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam, which also was the nodal agency during the bidding process.
Welspun Energy co-founder and managing director Vineet Mittal said the company plans to develop 1.75 gm solar and wind power in the next three years.
