Home appliance maker Whirlpool today reported over two-fold increase in its profit after tax (PAT) at Rs 16.16 crore for the quarter ended on December.
The company has reported a PAT of Rs 6.91 crore for the quarter ended on December 31, 2008, a Whirlpool statement said.
During the quarter under review, Whirlpool's turnover grew by 24 per cent to Rs 524 crore, compared to Rs 423 crore in the corresponding period last fiscal.
"The momentum in the current economic climate, plus our product leadership, gives us confidence about our business prospects going forward," Whirlpool of India Managing Director Arvind Uppal said.
