India's third largest IT services company Wipro Ltd's Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) Suchira Iyer has quit from the Azim Premji Promoted company. Suchira Iyer was appointed as the CMO of the company in April 2012 and was reporting to CEO of IT business TK Kurien.

When contacted by Business Standard Suchira Iyer said, “I have decided to move on and not yet decided on future plans. I am evaluating various options.”

Suchira Iyer took the role of CMO when former CMO Rajan Kohli moved as the vertical head for the banking business of the company. Suchira joined the company in 1994 and prior to her role as Chief marketing Officer she was the Country Head for the Greater China region with responsibility for sales, delivery and operations for business in Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Apart from the CMO's role she  has also held various roles within the organisation in the areas like sales, strategic alliances, operations, and talent acquisition.

When asked for company's response, Wipro in an email statement said: “After spending nearly two decades at Wipro,  Suchira Iyer, Chief Marketing Officer, IT Business, Wipro Limited,  has decided to move on to pursue interests outside the organization. We wish her success in all her future endeavors.”

The company also said it will announce her successor in due course.

“Shaji Farooq, Senior Vice President, Advanced Technologies, Global Alliances & GTM Transformation will continue to have the overall responsibility of the Strategic Marketing function at Wipro,” added the statement.
