"In last financial year, we logged turnover of Rs 1,100 crore. This financial year, we are looking at a growth of 10-15%. Footwear is our flagship segment but the share of garments is growing and now accounts for 40% of our total sales", said Harkirat Singh, managing director, Woodland.
Woodland also exports its products mostly to the Gulf countries. Exports accounts for 15% of its turnover. It has opened a showroom in Hong Kong and warehousing centres in Moscow and Dubai.
Around 10% of Woodland's sales comes through the e-commerce channel. Apart from its own portal Woodland Worldwide, the footwear major has tie-ups with leading players in e-commerce space such as Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra and Snapdeal.
Woodland on Tuesday marked its fifth year of support to Unicef's WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) programme running across schools.
In the last five years of this association, Woodland has inspired its employees and customers to raise Rs 2 crore for the Unicef WASH programme, helping to improve children access to basic hygiene, sanitation and water facilities in remote communities and more than 500 schools across the country.
"Woodland shares Unicef's deep commitment to improving the lives and well-being of children and young people around the world. The brand has been built with the support of the society and it's our responsibility to give back by supporting the under-privileged," said Singh.
"Open defecation is a key issue in remote parts of our country and Odisha has one of the lowest toilet coverage in India. Through the WASH drive, we aim to facilitate the construction of toilets and create awareness amongst households on the problems associated with open defecation. We are proud that with the support of our customers and employees, Woodland and Unicef partnership has strengthened over years; positively affecting the lives of children," he added.
