Wow Air to connect Delhi with Vancouver from 2019; price starts at Rs 22k

Icelandic long-haul budget carrier Wow Air, which is set to commence its flight services to India from December, said Wednesday it plans to fly to Vancouver in Canada from New Delhi, starting June next year.

The proposed flights on the New Delhi-Vancouver routes will be operated thrice a week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, a release said.

Wow Air has also announced inaugural fares starting Rs 21,999 for an economy class and Rs 63,610 for the business class travel on the New Delhi-Vancouver flight.

The transatlantic airline in May announced services from New Delhi to multiple destinations in North America and Europe through its Reykjavik hub in Iceland from December.

"We are happy to announce the new flight to Vancouver from New Delhi. This new addition will definitely give a boost to the response from the Indian market. We are eagerly waiting for the operations to begin from New Delhi in December," said Skuli Mogensen, founder and chief executive officer, Wow Air.

Starting December 7, the airline plans to connect New Delhi with destinations such Iceland, Chicago, New York, Detroit, Baltimore, Boston, Toronto, Montreal, Los Angeles and Orlando.

The flight to Vancouver will have a lay-over of two hours 25 minutes at Iceland, while in its return journey the lay over period at Iceland will be of three hours and 20 minutes, the airline said in the release.

The airline currently operates to 39 destinations across North America and Europe, with a fleet of Airbus A320, A321 and A330 aircraft.
