Yamaha today unveiled its brand new scooter Cygnus Ray ZR at the 13th Edition of Auto Expo.

Sporting a 113-cc engine and front disk brakes, the two-wheeler is being targeted as a men’s scooter and is the latest addition to its products line-up in India.

The Japanese two-wheeler major said that the commercial launch of the scooter will be done later.

The Auto Expo would be closely followed with the introduction of Yamaha's product line up which includes YZF R15 version 2.0 and Yamaha SZ RR. The new R15 is priced at Rs 1.18 Lakh ex-showroom Delhi.

Speaking on two-wheeler sales in India, Roy Kurian, the company’s VP for sales and marketing said that last year had been tough on the two wheeler segment in India as sales remained flat.

“Last year has not been good for the two-wheeler industry. However, Yamaha has seen a growth of 5%. The industry seems to see the same pace this year, but we are growing," said Kurian said. The company is hopeful of seeing a stable growth in its sales in 2016 with plans to introduce new scooters and motorcycles throughout the year. It sold 2.7 lakh scooters in 2016.

The company aims to sell eight lakh two wheeler units in 2016.
