SBIS will have an international curriculum, Cambridge Secondary 1 checkpoint for Grade 8 and IGCSE for Grades 9 & 10. IGCSE, International General Certificate of Secondary Education is an internationally recognised qualification for school students, typically in the 14–16 age group. It was developed by University of Cambridge International Examinations in 1985.
SBIS offers a variety of subject options to its students and a bridge course to ensure smooth transition from national to international boards. Career Guidance will also be provided to the students that will help them identify their unique talents and subsequently prepare them for higher education towards various career options available both in India and abroad. With a total intake capacity of 216 students for Grade 8, 9, 10, 11 &12 the School plans to set up a one-of-its-kind state-of-the-art infrastructure and facilities.
After Grade 10, students of SBIS will have the option of following the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) at Ashok Birla International School (ABIS) which Birla Edutech proposes to launch at Napeansea Road, Mumbai commissioning in academic year 2014-15 (next year). ABIS will offer IBDP for grades 11 & 12.
Currently the verticals under Birla Edutech are Globe Tot’ers - A Birla Preschool, Open Minds, A Birla K-12 School and Shloka - A Birla K-12 school. Birla Shloka Edutech Limited (BSEL) another initiative of the Yash Birla Group is the holding company of BEL which provides software solutions to schools.
