'I am responsible for 28 states, not just Bengal'

As the pressure from Mamata Banerjee came on the UPA Government for a moratorium on interest payments to the tune of Rs 22,000 crore a year on Central loans, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday categorically stated that problems of all the three debt-ridden states — Bengal, Punjab and Kerala — are being looked into by a panel and not just West Bengal alone. He also stated that though he comes from West Bengal, he has responsibility towards all 28 states.
