Manchester United's new manager Louis van Gaal is planning four more signings and a major clear-out of the club's squad with as many as ten players facing the axe under the Dutchman.
Van Gaal is reportedly determined to overhaul the squad that fared so disastrously under sacked boss David Moyes last season.
The former Netherlands boss arrived at United's Aon Training Complex on Wednesday to start his new role, taking an evening training session after meeting his squad and staff including assistant Ryan Giggs, The Mirror reported.
Van Gaal would be officially introduced by United at an Old Trafford press conference on Thursday, but is reportedly understood to have wasted no time in outlining his intended rebuilding process.
The 62-year-old intends to make as many as four more signings this summer, to add to new arrivals Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw, as well as stripping back his existing squad, with Ashley Young, Wilfried Zaha, Marouane Fellaini, Bebe, Anderson, Tom Cleverley, Nani and Nick Powell among players poised to be shown the door by Van Gaal.
And with Patrice Evra leaving for Juventus just weeks after being handed a new deal and striker Javier Hernandez open to a move elsewhere to play more regularly, Van Gaal could discard as many as 10 of Moyes' squad.
Speculations are that Van Gaal wants to operate with a 24 or 25-men strong squad, which would mean a significant scaling down of the group he inherited, the report added.
