Speaking to reporters here today, he said some sections had requested it to be headquartered at Vijayawada while others wanted Visakhapatnam. The central government would take a final call on this, he added.
He also said the Centre would decide on the special category status to AP after setting up the new Planning Commission. The state, however, would get special status for at least 10 years.
To encourage the tourism sector in coastal area, the government, if necessary, would bring some changes in the Coastal Regulation Zone norms, but it would make sure these do not harm the environment and the livelihood of fishermen, he stated.
