"The state government has amended the required clauses in the revenue code to increase the compensation paid for the loss to the natural disaster victims," a state government spokesperson said.
The disaster management department has issued a circular to all the district collectors in this regard. The circular has an attached sheet of the revised rate based on which the victim would be paid compensation for the loss or damage caused to the house. The order would come into immediate effect, the spokesperson said.
According to the revised rate, the owner of the pucca house, damaged in the natural calamity, would now get Rs 75,000. Earlier, the state government was paying Rs 70,000. Similarly, the kucca house damaged in nature's fury would be paid Rs 17,500 instead of Rs 15,000 paid earlier by the state government. The partial damaged pucca house would now be paid Rs 12,600. Earlier, the state government was paying Rs 6,300. Similarly, the compensation for the kucca houses, partially damaged, has been increased from Rs 3,200 to Rs 3,800. A person whose hut would get completely damaged in the natural calamity would now get Rs 3,000 instead of earlier rate of Rs 2,500. With the monsoon at the doorstep, Chhattisgarh government has geared up to deal with any natural disaster.
