"On receipt of the RFQs, we will finalise eligible candidates for the actual bidding for the project," said Sanjay Bhatia, vice-chairman and managing director, Cidco. The corporation had floated tenders for the Rs 14,500-crore project on February 5 and had fixed June 18 as the deadline, which was later extended to July 30 after some bidders sought time to submit the tenders.
According to the revised RFQ, Cidco will announce the pre-qualified applicants on October 30 and the concession agreement will be signed within 60 days of the letter of approval being issued.
Under the new RFQ, equity participation by a scheduled or cargo airline or its associates has increased to 26 per cent from 10 per cent in the special purpose vehicle, which will execute the project. The concession will be for a minimum period of 30 years and the premium will constitute the sole criteria for bid- evaluation.
