Dibrugarh Rajdhani derails: Railway Minister to visit Patna

Gowda also said that the Commissioner of railway safety will inquire about the matter

Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda is set to visit Patna to inspect the site where the Delhi-Dibrugarh Rajdhani express derailed today.

Gowda said, "Today morning I came to know about the accident. The injured have been taken to hospital and given medical treatment. All the passengers in the train have shifted to the nearby station. I am going to Patna to visit the accident site. Prima facie it is a sabotage. I am rushing to the spot and getting all the particulars. I have also intimated the happenings to the Prime Minister and the home minister."

The Minister also announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh for the deceased and Rs 1 lakh for those who were injured in the mishap.

Gowda also said that the Commissioner of railway safety will inquire about the matter.
