HDFC Bank's Aditya Puri undergoes cardiac surgery

Puri is expected to resume work in a few weeks from now

HDFC Bank, country's second largest private sector lender, Managing Director, Aditya Puri underwent a cardiac surgery on Tuesday, the bank said in a notice to the exchanges.

The lender added the operation was successful and Puri is recuperating and is expected to resume work in a few weeks from now.

The board also added that it is confident that the operations of the bank will remain unaffected during this period.
