RJD chief Lalu Prasad on Thursday appeared before the CBI in response to its summons to join investigation in the probe into alleged irregularities in the IRCTC hotels' contract case.
Lalu Prasad appeared at the Central Bureau of Investigation headquarters on Lodhi Road in south Delhi at around 11.30 a.m.
"His questioning has started," CBI spokesperson Abhishek Dayal told IANS.
The CBI on September 26 issued fresh summons -- third in the month -- to the RJD chief and his son Tejashwi Yadav in the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation case.
The probe agency had asked both to visit its headquarters on October 5 and 6, respectively, to join investigation in the case.
The CBI's latest move comes after Lalu Prasad and Tejashwi skipped two earlier summons.
