Jharkhand Chief Minister Arjun Munda and other MLAs today cast their votes in the presidential elections, which is going on in the premises of Jharkhand Assembly.
The wheel-chair borne Munda, who had on May 9 suffered injuries following a helicopter accident, cast his vote and returned to his residence.
The day started with the opposition leader Rajendra Prasad Singh of the Congress exercising his franchise first, followed by his party colleague Sarfaraz Ahmed.
RJD's legislature party leader Annapurna Devi said four of the party MLAs have cast their votes while another of its MLA Sanjay Singh was on his way to the assembly.
Earlier, JMM, Ajsu Party, RJD, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantric) and Janata Dal (U) have announced to vote for UPA presidential candidate Pranab Mukherjee.
BJP, which heads the coalition government in the state, would be the lone NDA ally in the state to vote for P A Sangma.
The lone MLA of the Marxist Coordination Committee Arup Chatterjee said he voted for Mukherjee while the lone CPI (ML-Liberation) member Vinod Kumar Singh said he would abstain.
The value of one MLA in the Jharkhand Assembly is 176 votes, Pandey added.
