It said the high-level committee is set up under the chairmanship of Directorate General of Health Services, BD Athani.
"Union Health Ministry has set up a high-level committee to look into how use of khadi can be promoted in hospitals under its control," it said in a statement.

The committee will submit its recommendations and suggestions in a time-bound manner, it added.
Other members of the committee are Director of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Medical Superintendents of Safdarjung Hospital and Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital and Director of Lady Hardinge Medical College and associated hospitals.
This is one of the steps KVIC is taking to promote use of khadi products in the country.
