KIIT, Utkal varsity to host commerce conference

City based KIIT University in association with the post graduate department of commerce, Utkal University will host the 67th All India Commerce Conference of Indian Commerce Association from December 27 to 29 at the KIIT campus.

The state is hosting the conference for the second time, the first being in 1982 at Ravenshaw College, Cuttack. More than 1,200 papers related to various areas are expected to be presented in the six sessions planned during the three-day annual conference.

Eight foreign delegates will present research papers and more than 12 former presidents of the association, eight former vice-chancellors and five acting vice-chancellors will attend the conference.

A special session for the students and research scholars studying commerce and management at undergraduate and postgraduate levels is being organized to encourage them to pursue research in the field. The conference will have 50 students presenting papers while 200 research scholars will be participating. Cash prize and scholarships will be awarded to the meritorious students for the first time.

Banikanta Mishra, Professor of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar will receive the prestigious Professor Manubhai M Shah Memorial Award-2014.
