India on Sunday strongly hit out at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for making factually incorrect and unwarranted references to Jammu and Kashmir in resolutions adopted by the grouping at a meeting in Niger, and asserted that the union territory is an integral and inalienable part of the country.
In a strongly-worded statement, India advised the OIC to refrain from making such references in future and said it is regrettable that the grouping continues to allow itself to be used by a certain country "which has an abominable record on religious tolerance, radicalism and persecution of minorities", a clear reference to Pakistan.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called on UAE's Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on Sunday and discussed with him the prospects for economic cooperation between India and the Gulf country in the post-COVID-19 era.
Jaishankar thanked Sheikh Mohammed for taking care of the Indian community and underlined that India had been a reliable partner to the UAE in all respects during this difficult period.

A PIL seeking directions to the Election Commission to nullify the election results and hold fresh polls if maximum votes have been polled in favour of NOTA in a particular constituency has been filed in the Supreme Court.
The plea filed by BJP leader and advocate Ashwini Kumar Upadhyay has also sought directions to restrict the contesting candidates from taking part in the fresh election, who have participated in the nullified election.

Search and rescue teams of the Indian Navy located the turbo charger, fuel tank and some other parts of the MiG-29K fighter aircraft that had crashed into the Arabian Sea, but one of the two pilots remained untraceable, officials said on Sunday.
The Indian Navy has deployed nine warships, 14 aircraft and a number of fast interceptor craft as part of the search and rescue mission to trade the missing pilot, they said.

However, after some days into the lockdown, Sharma and her friends had found an alternative in online classes, which experts say will remain "an all-weather friend" not only for students preparing for competitive exams like the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), but for also imparting education in general in the Covid-19-induced new normal.
"It (the lockdown) came as a shock I and many others like me had no idea what to do. We were in the midst of preparing for the exam and the thought of wasting a year was terrifying. But my friends and I immediately shifted our focus to online coaching and were well prepared by September," Sharma, who hails from Chandigarh told PTI over phone.

Asserting that the people of Telanganaare angry and upsetwith the ruling TRS in Telangana and Owaisi's "alliance", Union Home Minister and top BJP leader Amit Shah on Sunday predicted this time Hyderabad will elect a BJP Mayor in the city's civic polls.
Shah, who offered prayers at the Bhagyalakshmi Devi Temple in Old City here, saidthe people of Hyderabad want good governance and they have belief in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and the BJP.
"The way the people of Telangana have supported Modi ji during the Lok Sabha polls (BJP won four seats from Telangana in 2019 Parliament elections)...I feel the begining forchange has begun and Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is the next stop," Shah told TV news channels,participating in a roadshow in Secunderabad on the last day of campaigning for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
Exuding confidence that the BJP's candidate will become Mayor of the city, Shah alleged Hyderabad lacked even basic amenities for the past several years.
