Traffic advisory issued ahead of Republic Day rehearsals in Delhi

In view of upcoming Republic Day rehearsals on January 18, 20 and 21, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory, suggesting alternate routes for commuters.

"In view of #RepublicDay Parade rehearsals on Jan 18th, 20th and 21st, traffic restrictions will be effective on Kartavyapath from 10:15 AM to 12:30 PM. Commuters are requested to avoid the mentioned routes and plan their journey accordingly," traffic police tweeted.

The Republic Day celebrations this year will take place on the revamped Central Vista avenue, and the government has put 32,000 tickets on sale online for the masses, defence ministry officials said on Wednesday.

For the first time, all official invites for the ceremonial event will be sent online, they said. This will be the first Republic Day celebrations hosted at the ceremonial boulevard after Rajpath was renamed to 'Kartavya Path' last year.

The government on Wednesday proposed a slew of changes to the insolvency law, including fast-tracking the process and expanding the scope of pre-packaged framework.

The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC), which came into force in 2016, provides for a market-linked and time-bound resolution of stressed assets. The Code has already undergone various amendments.

After completing 44 glorious years of service to the nation, IL 38 aircraft of the Indian Navy will be flying over the Kartvya Path for the first and last time on Republic Day this year.


The Republic Day fly-past will comprise 45 Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft, one from the Indian Navy and four helicopters from the Indian Army, said Wing Commander Indranil Nandi.

Delhi traffic police issues advisory in view of R-Day parade rehearsals

Traffic restrictions will be in place on Kartavyapath from 10:15 am to 12:30 pm on January 18, 20 and 21 in view of Republic Day parade rehearsals, police said on Wednesday.

The traffic police requested motorists to observe traffic rules and road discipline and follow directions of personnel deployed at all intersections. It also asked people to plan their journeys to avoid inconvenience.

The traffic advisory suggested routes to be taken for commuting from north to south Delhi and vice versa.
