Tourists in Mumbai will now be able to enjoy helicopter joy rides. Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation and Pawan Hans will launch the heli-tourism scheme on Thursday.
The joy ride will last ten minutes and will cost Rs 3,200 per person. The service will be offered from Juhu airport daily.
A press statement from MTDC said the joy rides are aimed to attract tourists who have limited time at hand but wish to explore Mumbai and other parts of the state.
"Initially, only Mumbai scenic tours will be introduced followed later on by heli-Tours to Elephanta Island, Ajanta Caves, Ellora caves and subsequently also to Shirdi," MTDC said.
Paraag Jaiin Nainuttia, managing director - Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation Ltd said: "Heli-Tourism in Maharashtra opens up a world of new possibilities for travellers. We are optimistic that this new initiative will be well received and see tremendous demand in the days to come."
