Odisha cabinet okays 'Public Service Bill'

The State Cabinet has approved the ‘Citizen Charter Bill’, a move that is expected to provide 69 citizen centric services by 10 departments in a hassle free and time-bound manner while fixing penalty on erring officers.

Alternatively called the ‘Odisha-Right to Public Service Bill’, the proposed bill will bring within its ambit key departments of the state government that have frequent interface with the common man, like energy, water resources, health and family welfare and housing and urban development to name a few.
