PM Narendra Modi urges parents to encourage children to take up sports

In his Mann Ki Baat address PM had stressed that sports should not be considered as a waste of time

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday congratulated all sports lovers across India on the occasion of National Sports Day and expressed the hope that sports and sportsmanship will always shine in Indian society.

"On National Sports Day, I congratulate all sports lovers across India and hope sports and sportsmanship will always shine in our society," the Prime Minister said.

In his Mann Ki Baat address on Sunday, the Prime Minister had stressed that sports should not be considered a waste of time by parents and guardians and that children should be encouraged to take part in sports.
