Three ward boys of a private nursing home in Shamli allegedly tried to rape a Dalit woman.

The woman, in her early 30s, told police that the men tried to rape her after she opposed harassment by them. The victim was attending to her ailing relative at the nursing home, police said.

The woman succeeded in thwarting the rape bid and along with other nursing home staff caught hold of the accused, they said.

The accused have been arrested and booked under the Dalit Act and relevant sections of IPC.
