Laying the foundation stone for a new four-storeyed guest house at Munnar today, he said construction of the guest house would take place in a phased manner and the government would provide all support to complete the project in a time-bound manner.
The tourism department has decided to construct the additional guest house to offer more quality services to the tourists visiting the hill station. It would come up near the old guest house, which has only eight rooms.
Officials said the guest house would be constructed in three stages and it have 36 rooms in four floors. In the first stage, the works on ground and first floors would be completed. It would have conference rooms, modern kitchens and a high-end restaurant.
