Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption officials today arrested an Assistant Engineer of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board at Vadamadurai in Dindigul district while accepting bribe from a farmer.
The farmer Picha had apporoached the official Indrasekhar to get electrical connection for his pumpset for agricultural.
When Indrasekhar demanded Rs 40,000 as bribe from Pichai for providing the connection, he complained to DVAC officials, police said.
The DVAC officials arrested the Engineer while accepting the money.
