Though some tweets were supportive, most poked fun at his speech. "Did UPA charge entertainment tax on Rahul Gandhi for the India Inc event? For such a performance?" tweeted @Prakash_Sharma.
Some of Gandhi's metaphors failed to connect with the Twitterati. One such comment, "China is a dragon. India is called an elephant. But we're not an elephant, we're a beehive," drew criticism. As industry is bogged by acute economic stress, many were disappointed by the lack of clarity in his speech on this issue. "Apart from the fact that he isn't the answer to what India needs, Rahul Gandhi lacks preparation. Doesn't stand any chance for an office," tweeted Awrytro.
However, Gandhi found support, too. "Looking at his image in social networks, it seems even an excellent speech by Rahul Gandhi will fuel criticism for his dumbness," tweeted @DrPColi.
