120,000 Mw Capacity Set To Be Added By 2012: Prabhu

Union power minister Suresh Prabhu Thursday said the central government was working on a plan for enhancement in power generation capacities through renovation and modernisation (R&M) and greenfield projects in three stages (of 31,000MW, 40,000MW and 50,000MW) in the 10th and 11th plan periods (by 2012). Around 20,000 MW will be available after R&M in the period, he added.
