The 13th Finance Commission has recommended an allocation of Rs 13252.12 crore for Orissa for 2011-12.This includes grants-in-aid of Rs 1823.12 crore and Rs 11429 crore as share from Central taxes and duties.
The grants-in-aid component of Rs 1823.12 crore covers Rs 479.71 crore of grants for local bodies, Rs 187 crore for elementary education, Rs 41.37 crore for forests, Rs 46 crore for water sector, Rs 35.70 crore for UID (Unique Identification Programme), Rs 38.72 crore for delivery of justice, Rs 15 crore for District Innovation Fund, Rs six crore for district and state statistical systems, Rs 224 crore for maintenance of roads & bridges and Rs 308.37 crore for disaster relief.
