Three state-run power generation companies, NTPC, NHPC and Satluj Jal Vidyut Nigam (SJVNL), target to produce a total 2,60,400 million units of electricity in the next financial year (2011-12).
NTPC today signed an agreement with the Power Ministry of Power for the next fiscal, as per which the company is targetting to achieve 2,35,000 million units (MU) of electricity generation as against 2,26,000 million units in the last financial year, the company said in a statement.
NTPC, which has an installed capacity of over 33,694 Mw, plans to add 4,320 Mw from its own and joint venture projects projects during the year, it added.
"The company has set a target to generate 18,500 million units of energy as against 18,000 million units for the last year," NHPC said in a statement.
NHPC in an agreement with the Power Ministry has assured the commissioning of its Nimmo Bazgo, Chutak, Uri–II (Jammu & Kashmir) and Chamera-III (Himachal Pradesh) projects in 2011-2012.
SJVNL plans energy generation of 6,900 million units with an expected revenue realisation of Rs 1,718 crore during the financial year 2011-12 from its 1,500 Mw Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station in Himachal Pradesh, SJVNL said in a separate release.
SJVNL targets to start construction at the 412 Mw Rampur hydro electric power project to be completed by September, 2013.
The agreement also includes executing 775 Mw Luhri project and 66 Mw Dhaulasidh in Himachal Pradesh beside the 60 Mw Naitwar Mori and 51 Mw Jakhol Sankri project in Uttarakhand.
The company also hopes to submit the application for forest clearance for the 900 Mw Arun-III hydro project in Nepal and also submit the detailed project reports of the 650 Mw Kolongchu and 600 Mw Wangchu projects in Bhutan to the government of the neighbouring nation.
