ABG Ports has filed a special leave petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court (SC) to take its equipment out of Haldia.
Saket Agarwal, director, ABG Ports confirmed the development.
The petition has been filed against Calcutta High Court’s order directing the company not to take the equipment out of India, and also said that special officers, along with KoPT, be informed of its location.
Haldia Bulk Terminals (HBT), a joint venture of ABG Infralogistics and French firm Louis Dreyfus Armateurs, had pulled out of its operations at Haldia, breaking a 10-year-contract (2010-20) on October 31, citing law and order issues.
Besides, Kolkata Port is also seeking a compensation of Rs 233 crore from HBT for the loss in business caused by its exit.
