Security has been stepped up at Somnath temple with BJP leader L K Advani along with Uma Bharti scheduled to visit the shrine tomorrow to mark the anniversary of his Ram Rath Yatra to Ayodhya.
Party sources said Advani and Bharti are expected to arrive at Keshod airport in Junagadh district this evening from where they will leave for Somnath. They will offer prayers at the temple tomorrow morning.
Advani had taken out the Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya in 1990. The yatra had commenced on September 25, 1990 and since then Advani has been visiting the temple on its anniversary every year. Security arrangements at the Somnath temple have been further beefed up and over 260 policemen have been deployed.
The Allahabad High Court was slated to deliver its verdict on the Ayodhya title suits today, but the Supreme Court has deferred it by a week.
