AP to pay CERC-approved tariffs for solar power

Andhra Pradesh chief minister K Rosaiah said the state has identified specific areas having high solar insolation for setting up of solar power projects.

The state was encouraging solar power project by approving the recommended tariff of the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission and had recommended for 0.25 per cent solar energy power purchase obligation. The Andhra Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission has also issued tariff order to this extent.
