AP to promote ready-to-drink alcoholic beverage

After raising the duties and the prices on Indian made foreign liquor (IMFL), the Andhra Pradesh government on Thursday announced the rules to manufacture ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages.
Distilleries can produce ready-to-drink carbonated alcoholic products with alcohol content not exceeding 5 per cent, according to the rules. The drinks can be made with fruit juices or flavouring agents, etc.The government will levy Re 1 as licence fee on every bulk litre of these beverages.
