The Andhra Pradesh government is all set to announce a transparent and comprehensive land allocation policy to promote the industrial sector in the state, according to chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
“The state’s industrial promotion policy is one of the best in the country with major incentives such as 25 per cent value-added tax (VAT) reimbursement, power reimbursement of Rs 0.75 per unit for five years, 100 per cent reimbursement of stamp duty and providing infrastructure at the doorstep of the industry,” he said,
Reddy said Andhra Pradesh was the best power-providing state and during the recent summer the power shortage was only 6 per cent, which was the least in the country among all states ,including Gujarat. Andhra Pradesh purchased 1800 Mw of power during the summer to facilitate the industry.
Participating as chief guest at the Fapcci excellence awards ceremony on Thursday evening, Reddy stated the state government and the industry were having a good mutual understanding and the industry was being consulted in the formulation of important policies like land allotment and the proposed Rajiv Education and Employment Mission (Reem).
Reem is aimed at providing 1.5 million jobs in the next three years and is proposing industry-suited courses, curricula, training and skill development to students and unemployed.
“The Partnership Summit will be held next February at Hyderabad and also the world’s biggest event – Bio-diversity World Conference – will be held in October 2012 here wherein about 10,000 delegates and 193 country heads would participate,” he said.
