A survey conducted by a TV channel in Indian cities has revealed that 63 per cent of children in Bangalore use computers while 64 per cent surf the internet at cyber cafes on a daily basis. | |
Turner International Asia Pacific Ltd vice president (research and market development) Duncan Morris, told reporters here on Thursday that the findings are part of the sixth edition of Cartoon Network's lifestyle study "" New Generations 2005.

"The survey has revealed that Bangalore children are tech savvy. The usage of computers as well as internet surfing among them is high when compared to that of the national average (40 per cent)," he added.

The survey, which covered 14 cities and 8,927 respondents, also revealed that 74 per cent of the kids aspire to own mobile phones with cameras while watching TV is their dominant leisure activity.

"We intend to increase our market share from the existing 60 per cent by including more Indian content in both the channels. As many as five India specific cartoon programmes are lined up for release this year," Morris stated.
