The top brass of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is set to begin a meeting here with officials of the event management company International Management Group (IMG) during which they will seek details of the financial dealings carried out during the tenure of suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) Commissioner Lalit Modi.
IMG reportedly hit headlines following rumours that it was involved in the planning of a ''rebel'' Twenty20 league in England in conjunction with Modi.
Modi was sent a show cause notice on this count by the BCCI.
IMG however denied the charges, and asserted that it had it had always respected the authority and sovereignty of official sports federations.
IMG''s response came following allegations inflicted on the company by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) chairman Giles Clarke, who in an e-mail to the BCCI allegedly accused the firm of promoting rebel cricket.
The firm has sent a defamation notice to Clarke on the charges.
BCCI President Shashank Manohar and Secretary N Srinivisan will be meeting the IMG representatives.
IMG Senior Vice President Andrew Whiteblood will attend the meeting along with the firm''s legal experts.
On April 26, the BCCI had served a notice to Modi and given him 15 days (May 10) time to reply.
The BCCI later extended the time given to Modi till May 15.
The notice charges Modi of financial irregularity, but he has maintained that all decisions were taken collectively by the IPL Governing Council.
Modi is also facing the charges of receiving kickbacks for allotting TV broadcast rights and manipulating bids.
