Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) has suggested some amendments in the stage IV master plan submitted by Tata Consulting Engineers Limited (TCE) for the development of Modern Integrated Township (MIT) in Jagasara and Madanpur area to make it implementable. The project is proposed to come up over 1,200 acres of land.
BDA has suggested TCE to use gas insulated substations to provide power to the integrated township, to ensure minimum use of land for accommodating the transformers and the substations.
Similarly for sewage treatment plants (STPs), the authority advised the developer to decentralize STP at multiple locations in line with internationally accepted trends. Land profile needs to be considered so as to ensure natural flow under gravity to the possible extent.
Similarly for solid waste management, segregation at source shall be encouraged to the possible extent and number of vehicle trips from common transfer points to dumping/processing site may be reduced through innovate techniques like compressing the collected waste material resulting in volume reduction.
At least one modern hospital with state of art facilities comprising of at least two hundred bed within area of 5 acres should be highlighted in the PSP area as a part of essential social infrastructure, in addition to health centers, polyclinics as a part of the residential pockets, BDA commented.
It may be noted that TCE had made a presentation to BDA on November 25 on finalization of master plan for development of its signature project on the outskirts of city.
