BSE Institute launches post-graduate programme in business journalism

BSE Institute, a wholly-owned subsidiary of BSE Ltd, on Tuesday announced the launch of a post-graduate programme in business journalism. The one-year full-time autonomous programme will commence next month.
"The financial crisis has highlighted the need for skilled business journalists who can understand the increasingly complex world of business and finance and interpret in a manner that makes it easy for an average person on the street to take informed decisions. With this in mind, we have launched this specialised post-graduate programme in business journalism," said Ambarish Datta, managing director and chief executive officer, BSE Institute.
The course will include key topics on finance, economics and financial markets to provide students with the base domain knowledge, along with journalism-related topics. It will emphasise on introduction to business and financial reporting, exploring corporate stories, industry news, national and local economic trends, and financial markets.
The key highlights of this programme include an opportunity to cover live events, work on broadcast capsules in a live studios, mentoring from senior business journalists, international visits and training to use technology tools. Placement assistance will be provided to all students under the course programme with the BSE Institute after they successfully complete the programme. Moneycontrol.com, Newswire and Zee Business are the partners for the course.
