West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee is likely to skip the CPI(M) politburo meeting tomorrow in Delhi as he has to "oversee the law and order situation in the state".
The move assumes significance in the wake of the Left Front's debacle in the Lok Sabha elections in West Bengal.
The politburo meeting has been convened to discuss the poll outcome.
Bhattacharjee is unlikely to attend the politburo meeting "as he has to oversee the law and order situation in the state after the announcement of Lok Sabha election results", sources close to the Chief Minister told PTI today.
"Mostly due to the reason (law and order supervision) the CM is skipping the politburo meet to remain in the state," the sources said.
However, other politburo members from the state including Biman Bose and Nirupam Sen, would attend the meeting tomorrow, CPI(M) sources said.
