Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today inaugurated and laid the foundation of development projects worth Rs 3,337 crore pertaining to Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway.

The projects amounting to Rs 1,877 crore, Rs 1,200 crore and Rs 260 crore relate to New Okhla Industrial Development Authority (Noida), Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority and Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority, respectively. There was announcement for a span of projects in the social sector, roads, hospitals, parking, school, power, housing, etc.

The sole inaugurated project is the 35-million-litres-a-day  sewage treatment plant in Noida. This makes Noida the first Indian city having the capacity to treat 100 per cent sewage it produces. It has been built on the basis of study and recommendation of Indian Institute of Technology Roorkie.

Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said the state was steadily treading the path of development and even experts had admitted India could not develop without UP.

The CM distributed Gold Cards to select industrialists. The card allows the holder easy access to senior government officials for industry and investment related works in the secretariat.

UP Chief Secretary Jawed Usmani urged the authorities to ensure quality and timely completion of projects.

Meanwhile, CEO of the three development authorities Rama Raman said the chief minister would be invited to unveil projects worth almost Rs 2,000 crore in the next three months.

Another project, for which foundation was laid, included two 400 kv and 400/220 kv capacity power sub-stations estimated to cost Rs 1,016 crore.
