Cement export ban partly relaxed

A notification by Directorate General of Foreign Trade today said that export of cement will be allowed form ports based in Gujarat.

Commerce Secretary Gopal Pillai said that export of two million tonnes of cement will be allowed  from ports in Gujarat.

"With the Monsoons approaching, there will be a slow down in the demand of cement in the country and hence the part relaxation on the export ban," Pillai said on the sidelines of a Ficci seminar.
