The Congress yesterday warned Britain against any interference in the Kashmir issue, asserting this is totally unacceptable to us.
Reacting to the reported anti-India stand taken at a recent conference of the ruling British Labour Party, party spokesman V.N. Gadgil said, All issues between India and Pakistan should be settled bilaterally within the framework of the Shimla agreement.
Pointing out that the Labour leaders also discussed the United Nations resolution on Kashmir, Gadgil said We must warn these friends that any interference by the British leaders in the Kashmir issue is unacceptable to us.

Gadgil said the stand taken by the Labour leaders was particularly wrong in view of the proposed visit of Queen Elizabeth to India.
Such anti-India stand should not have been taken by the British leaders, he said.
