Chhattisgarh government sees investment opportunities for the state in America while opposition Congress reminds to expedite the pending proposals.

Chief Minister Raman Singh on Thursday returned from his 11-day visit to the United States. The visit was aimed to explore investment opportunities in America for Chhattisgarh that has been endowed with rich minerals.

“The American companies have showed interest to invest in solar and thermal power sector not only in Chhattisgarh but also in other states in the country,” Singh said. They met a number of people and Non-Resident Indians to look forward for investment in the state, he added.

The Chhattisgarh Chief Minister said he was impressed with the work going on in America in the solar and thermal power sectors. “The investors in America have showed their interest and clarified their queries related to the state,” Singh said.

The main opposition party, Congress is however unimpressed with the chief minister to the United States. The Congress leaders feel that instead of looking for new investment, Chhattisgarh government should expedite the proposals it had signed earlier with corporate for investment in the state.

“The industrial development in Bastar and Sarguja had been badly affected and it would have been better had the government paid attention to speed up the work rather than looking for fresh investment in America,” Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee President Nandkumar Patel said.
