A local court today posted to February 4 hearing on all five complaints filed against Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and others, including his son-in-law, over allegations of corruption. The court gave the direction after Yeddyurappa’s son-in-law Sohan Kumar filed an application in response to the fourth complaint against him, seeking a stay of proceedings on the grounds that the matter is being probed by Lokayukta. Additional City Civil and Session Court Judge C B Hipparagi then directed the complainant to file his objections to Kumar’s application. The complainant sought time till tomorrow and said he would furnish the copy of the objections to the accused, just as it had been done in case of the three applications in the three complaints earlier.
Counsel for the complainant, C H Hanumantharaya requested the judge to post the hearing of all four complaints in which Kumar had been implicated to February 4. Five complaints in all were filed against Yeddyurappa and some of his family members by two city-based advocates, naming Kumar as the fourth accused.
