Decision on Food Bill deferred

P Chidambaram, A K Antony in Chennai to meet DMK chief Karunanidhi

The government today deferred a decision on the revised Food Security Bill and partially decontrolling the sugar sector because of absence of three key ministers.

Finance Minister P Chidambaram, Defence Minister AK Antony and Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azd are in Chennai to meet DMK Chief K Karunanidhi on Sri Lankan issue.

The two items are now expected to be taken up in the Cabinet tomorrow evening.
