New Delhi: Government and Baba Ramdev lock in a stand-off over his indefinite fast against blackmoney leading to a blamegame between the two sides and the yoga guru was in a tight corner after government released a letter from his aide that he would call off the agitation by mid-day.

Lucknow: BJP attacks the UPA government for allegedly breaching the federal set-up  by targeting opposition-ruled states and warned of legal recourse if this was not stopped.

New Delhi/Haridwar: The dramatic eviction of Baba Ramdev in the middle of night in a swoop by Delhi police set off a slugfest between the UPA and the Sangh Parivar and the yoga guru who announced that he would continue his agitation against black money.

New Delhi: Slamming the Congress for "attacking" Baba Ramdev last night, the BJP said the government has put a blot on democracy in the country.

Monday

New Delhi/Haridwar: Breaking his silence on the police action at Ramdev's protest congregation, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh says it was "unfortunate" but unavoidable even as the political battle on the issue heated up with the BJP knocking at the President's door demanding a special session of Parliament to discuss black money.

New Delhi: Trouble in the Lokpal Bill drafting committee escalates with civil society members boycotting its meeting citing "suspicious intent" of the government which hit back, saying the Anna Hazare's team was raising "extraneous" issues.

New Delhi: Continuing his efforts to ensure probity of his cabinet colleagues, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has asked them to declare their assets as also those of their spouses and dependents along with any business interests, as per the annual exercise.

New Delhi: Seeking to mount pressure on the government, civil rights activist Anna Hazare observes a day-long fast at Rajghat and threatened another hunger strike from August 16 if Lokpal Bill is not passed by then, saying it was part of the "second freedom struggle".

Haridwar/New Delhi: Threatening an armed rebellion, yoga guru Ramdev says he will raise a 11,000 force that will be trained to retaliate if authorities crackdown on their anti-corruption campaign, evoking a stern response from the Government which termed it "anti-national".

Thursday

Balasore: India achieves yet another success in missile technology as it successfully test-fires the Prithvi-II nuclear capable missile, which hit the target with "very high accuracy" of around 10 meters.
